ANOTHER PETROL INCREASE ON THE CARDS

THE Department of Minerals and Energy said it expects retail petrol, diesel and paraffin prices to rise from November 3. Diesel is anticipated to rise by seven cents a litre, petrol by one cent and illuminating paraffin by four cents a litre. “… (The) international product price of diesel and illuminating paraffin has increased substantially due to the higher demand in expectation of the forthcoming winter period in the northern hemisphere,” the ministry statement said. The wholesale margin of oil firms would be increased by 0,5 cents from November 3, the ministry said. Premium 93-octane leaded in the main Gauteng market stands at R2,90 a litre.
