AngloPlat management reshuffle

David McKay

Anglo Platinum chief executive officer Barry Davison is to become executive chair of the group, it emerged in Anglo Platinum’s annual report. The board will also appoint a projects director who will focus on managing the group’s R12-billion expansion strategy.

Chair Leslie Boyd announced he would retire from the board of Anglo Platinum’s parent company, Anglo American, “in the near future”.

The board reshuffle may be a sign of things to come. In the report, the group details its employment equity plan. By 2005 designated groups will account for 23% of top

management (about six individuals) compared to the 4,2% today (a single person). Anglo Platinum says designated groups include black people, women and people with disabilities.
