This week, the 27-year-old ANC MEC was battling for her political survival amid allegations that she had used government funds to hire a plane to take her and her friends to Joe Cocker’s concert at Sun City last year.
The allegations are contained in a report by North-West Director General, Job Mokgoro, who was instructed by Premier Popo Molefe to conduct internal audits of all the ministries.
A statement released by the premier’s office this week said: “It must be stressed that the report is of a preliminary nature.”
De Wet has refused to comment.
