BRAZIL’s multi-million dollar soccer superstar Ronaldo will definitely be in the squad to face Bafana Bafana in a World Cup warm-up match at FNB stadium on Sunday.
SA coach Clive Barker took hios squad through their paces in a practice session at Rand Stadium on Tuesday, confident that the national squad has what it takes to surprise the Brazilians. The last time the two squads met was in last years Nelson Mandela Inauguration trophy, where Bafana Bafana lost 3-2 after being two golas up in the first half.

HOCKEY TOUR OFF TO WINNING START THE SA men’s hockey tour to Argentina got off to a winning start on Monday night with a comfortable 2-0 victory over a Buenos Aires Selected XI. Goals in each half were scored by Greg Nicol and Gregg Clark.

SHARP TRIATHLON FINISH LOCAL athlete Alan Sharp finished third in the unofficial canoe triathlon world championship, which ended on Tuesday. The championship, involving a 230km, two-day run, cycle and paddle race from Mount Buller to Melbourne, was won by Aussie Novak Thompson. Fourteen South Africans took part.
