PENSIONER HURRIES TO GET TO CHURCH ON TIME

A 71-year-old South African woman was fined for speeding at 171km /hour on her way to church, The Star newspaper reported on Tuesday. The pensioner, Anna Kemp, told provincial traffic police that she was in a great hurry to get to church as she was late. ”When I saw her grey hair I immediately knew the situation was not going to be easy,” said traffic officer Carlo Carolus. He noticed Kemp seemed a little nervous when he pulled her over. He fined the intrepid Kemp R900 for her offence, committed on a highway about 70km north-east of Cape Town. – AFP
