SPRINGBOK centre Jappie Mulder was on Sunday ruled out of the Tri-Nations tour of Australia because of injuries. Mulder was injured in the first Test match against the British Lions. He has been advised to rest for two weeks and is expected to come back against the Wallabies on August 23 at Loftus Verveld.
Meanwhile, today is the D-day for Andre Jourbert and James Dalton to prove their fitness before they can be included in the squad to play against Australia and New Zealand on August 2 and 9. Joubert, who is suffering from a groin injury, has been out since the third Test match against the British Lions. He started training with Natal last Thursday and is expected to be passed fit.
Dalton will be subjected to a fitness test after injuring himself in a Currie Cup match between the Falcons and Northern Transvaal. “James has calf muscle injury and up to yersterday he was not 100%,” said Springbok coach Carel du Plessis.
