Last-minute Premier League signings

WEDNESDAY, 1.00PM:

AMAZULU have signed up Zimbabwean international striker Stewart Murisa from Caps United in Zimbabwe. Murisa will replace Simon Magagula, who moved to Orlando Pirates earlier this month.

Murisa said on Monday he was looking forward to the new challenge with great interest. “If I am selected in the starting line-up on Sunday, I will give it my best shot and maybe pay back something to my new masters by either scoring or contributing to a win,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns will not release unhappy midfielder Zane Moosa unless they receive a tangible offer from interested clubs. Sundowns’s PRO Alex Shakoane said: “We have invested a lot of money in the player on salaries and other benefits and for anyone to suggest that we should let him go for free, must be joking.” Moosa has not kicked a soccer ball for almost two years.

Sundowns has confirmed reports that Wits University were interested in their Malawian international midfielder Chancey Gondwe and former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Roger De Sa. Sundowns managing director Natasha Tsichlas said they will talk to the coach and the players before negotiating with Wits.

“Gondwe is a class player but because we have an excess of foreign players and a surplus of midfielders we would consider Wits’ offer,” she said.
