THURSDAY, 12.00NOON:
MAKHAYA NTINI may make history on Friday at The Waca. If Ntini gets the nod to play he will be the first black player to represent South Africa in a fully fledged one-day international.
Ntini, who has played in first class matches on the tour, will probably play against New Zealand in order to rest some of the players who have up to now kept him out of the side.
The fact that both Allan Donald and Brian McMillan are struggling with injuries may prove significant in realising Ntini’s goal.
SA skipper Hansie Cronje has indicated that Ntini and reserve keeper Mark Boucher will get their shot against New Zealand, rather than Australia.
