OWN CORRESPONDENT, Johannesburg | Tuesday 8.30pm.
JOE NDHLELA, former Transnet executive director, was on Tuesday appointed the new chief executive officer of the Premier Soccer League.
The announcement was made by National Soccer League chairman Leepile Taunyane at the PSL’s offices in Johannesburg.
Forty-three year old Ndhlela will take over from current CEO Trevor Phillips on January 1, but Phillips will remain on until March next year to assist Ndhlela.
Ndhlela has been involved in soccer at grassroots level, and has been an administrator in different fields for the past 20 years.
Neither Ndhlela or Taunyane were prepared to give any details regarding the duration of the term of office, but Ndhlela admitted that he has not signed any contract as yet.
