TWO black executives of Rand Water have lodged a charge of racial discrimination in the Labour Court after an outside candidate was appointed over their heads as general manager of scientific services. Business Report indicates that the two, Moss Selala and Jacques Katabua, filed papers after an appeal to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration failed. They are questioning the appointment last October of Hamath Kasan. An independent inquiry into racism at Rand Water last year found both men were suitably qualified and with the requisite experience to perform the job.
