THE Zambian government has suspended operations of the privately-owned Aero Zambia airline, the state-owned Times of Zambia reported on Saturday. The airline was recently linked by a local independent newspaper to the shipment of arms to Angolan rebels. The Times of Zambia quoted Transport Minister David Saviye as saying there was a need for an investigation of the airline, owned by David Torkoph, an American who normally lives in South Africa. He said a tribunal headed by a high court judge had been appointed to carry out the probe.
