SOUTH Africa and Pakistan agreed on Tuesday to share science and technology information by exchanging scientists, researchers and scholars. Roger Jardine, the director general in the Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology, signed the agreement with Pakistani foreign affairs secretary Shamshad Ahmad in Pretoria. Jardine said on Tuesday that the two nations will jointly identify scientific and technical problems, develop research programmes and apply research results in fields such as industry and agriculture. South Africa has signed 21 science and technology agreements since 1994 and has budgeted about R17-million for grants in terms of the agreements.
