FORMER Olympic 10000m silver medallist Elana Meyer was added to the field on Wednesday for the London marathon on April 18. Meyer (32) finished second to Ethiopia’s Derartu Tulu at the 1992 Barcelona Games after a memorable race. In her debut marathon in Boston five years ago she set a then African record of 2:25:15. She will face defending champion Catherina McKiernan of Ireland, Portugal’s European champion Manuela Machado and another Portuguese Fernanda Ribeiro, the Olympic 10000m champion.
