A CENTURY by Kennedy Otieno helped Kenya beat Bangladesh by 73 runs on Wednesday and assure them a place in the final against Zimbabwe in the three-nation cricket tournament. Man-of-the-match Otieno hit six towering sixes and eight fours to reach his 120, helping Kenya to score 231 in 48.4 overs in Dhaka. Steve Tikolo took three Bangladeshi wickets for 28 runs. Bangladesh started disastrously with the loss of opener Shahriar Hossain from the first ball and never looked confident apart from a defiant knock of 65 by Akram Khan. Angered by the dismal performance of the home team, several hundred spectators demonstrated outside the Bangladesh Cricket Board and demanded changes to the World Cup squad. The Board has already named the same team now playing in the tournament for the World Cup. Bangladesh play their last match against Zimbabwe on Thursday.
