LEAGUE WINNERS TO REPRESENT AFRICA

THE 1999 African Champions League winners will represent the continent at the first world club championships, the African Football Confederation were announced on Sunday. Brazil, China, Mexico, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Tahiti, Turkey, the United States and Uruguay have applied to host the eight-team competition from January 5 to 14. The line-up will include one club from each confederation, one from the host country, and the winners of the annual match between the European and South American champions.
