SOME three floors of a ministerial complex in Parliament were severely damaged on the weekend after someone trying to extinguish a small fire in the dustbin failed to switch off the hose. Cape Town police spokesman Captain Andre Traut said the fire is suspected to have started in a dustbin on the fourth floor at 120 Plein Street. It is thought that someone tried to extinguish the fire with the hose, but could not switch the water off. Guards outside the building finally became aware of seeping water and managed to switch off the fire hose.
