NAMIBIA, who ended Bafana Bafana’s hopes in the opening round of the Cosafa Cup last year, are banking on their South African connection to keep their cup ambitions alive. They have included four players from South Africa’s Premier League in their squad for a first round play-off match against Malawi at the Chicheri Stadium in Blantyre on May 22. The four include midfielder Mohamed Ouseb and defender Robert Nauseb from top-flight Kaizer Chiefs, while goalkeeper Filemon Kanalelo is at Sundowns and striker Ricardo Mannetti plays for Cape Town side Santos. Coach Peter Uberjahn has also recalled the young talented striker Eliphas Shivute and Ouseb in the 19-man squad after they missed last weekend’s African Nations Cup qualifier against Mali in Windhoek.
