MTHEMBU IN CRASH

MPUMALANGA transport MEC Jackson Mthembu narrowly escaped death on Sunday morning when he lost control of his government issue Mercedes Benz and rolled the vehicle while on his way home.Police spokesman Sergeant Leonard Hlathi said on Monday that the vehicle was badly damaged when it hit two separate traffic signs on the Beatlaan Road in Witbank before rolling into a tree. Mthembu was alone in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred at roughly 4.30am on Sunday morning. He confirmed police are investigating possible charges of reckless and negligent driving against Mthembu.
