FOUNDER member of People Against Gangsterism and Drugs, Faroek Jaffer, was buried on Sunday after he was gunned down on Saturday evening in Ottery, Athlone on the Cape Flats. Jaffer was apparently on his way home in heavy rain when he was shot five time, only two blocks away from his Pasadena Street home. Police believe it was a drive-by shooting. Jaffer (47) a founder member of Pagad had claimed that he had resigned from the anti-crime group when it became too militant, but Pagad insisted that he had been expelled.
