THE deputy president of the United Democratic Movement, Roelf Meyer, will be attending the Inkatha Freedom Party’s national congress in Ulundi this weekend. The UDM says Meyer’s attendance at the congress would bring about greater co-operation between the two parties. The UDM says it considers political realignment and the changing of voting patterns as high priorities in the country. Meyer’s attendance at the IFP congress means that he will not be able to attend a cultural thanksgiving ceremony to be held at UDM president Bantu Holomisa’s home at the weekend.
