ENERGY Africa, the independent South African-based oil and gas exploration and production group, said Friday it had appointed one of its existing directors, Dato’ M Idris Mansor, (54) as chairman of the company. This follows the resignation of Rob Angel as chairman on June 11. Dato’ M Idris Mansor has been on the board of Energy Africa since 1997. He is the senior vice president of the exploration and production business of Petronas. Energy Africa also said it had been notified by Engen that its application to the Registrar of Companies to change its year end from end August to September 30 had been approved.
