ELKOM WORKERS BACK

TELKOM and the SA Post Office on Monday reported that most Communication Workers’ Union members who took part in a pay strike last week had returned to work. Telkom in a statement said the union was consulting its members on the company’s latest offer a 5,5% rise in the total pay package of supervisors, 6% for workers on operational level, and 6,5% for support staff. The two parties will meet again in a week. The SA Post Office said all its offices were open on Monday. Backlogs were worked off over the weekend and posting services are virtually back to normal.
