SANLAM POSTS R1bn PROFIT

SANLAM reported a 37% increase of its headline earnings for the half year to show a R1-billion profit. An additional highlight was the turnaround of Sanlam Health. Sanlam’s first interim results as a listed financial services group announced on Wednesday are in line with their expectations, the company said in a statement. A turnaround in Sanlam Health’s fortunes contributed to a solid increase of 37% in headline earnings and a special interim dividend of 10 cents per share was declared.
