MONDAY’s All Africa Games netball matches at Elkah Stadium in Rockville, Soweto saw jubilation for some teams and heartbreak for others. In the penultimate leg of the competition, South Africa retained its champion status by beating Botswana 70 -21. In the first game of the day, Malawi clawed their way back from 19-22 at half time to beat Tanzaniaby 42-39. Botswana won a hard-fought match against Namibia in the second game of the day, and came from behind to take the match 41-19. Tanzania beat Kenya 40-37 in a match that went down to the wire. The SA Proteas — currently ranked two in the world — will take on Malawi, ranked sixth, in the final on Tuesday.
