ENERGY AFRICA IN GUINEA

OIL and gas exploration group Energy Africa announced on Wednesday that it has taken a stake in an off-shore oil project in the West African state of Equatorial Guinea. Energy Africa said it has signed a participation agreement with Triton Equatorial Guinea Incorporated to acquire 15% of Triton’s project in the Rio Mundi basin. The group said that agreement is subject to the approval of the Equatorial Guinea authorities. Engen, the marketing and refining company, holds 57,5% of Energy Africa’s shares. Engen, in turn, is controlled by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), the Malaysian national oil company.
