MORE than a hundred Zimbabweans living in South Africa attended a memorial service for slain Zimbabwean diplomat Madzorera Meki on Wednesday. Meki was shot dead in front of his eight-year-old son when his car was hijacked in Bedfordview on the East Rand on Saturday night. The hijacked vehicle was later found on a highway near Germiston. Zimbabwean High Commissioner to South Africa, Norman Moyo, and the country’s Sports Minister, Gabrial Machinga, were among those who gathered to pay their respects. At the service, Machinga dismissed suggestions that Meki could have been assassinated. Meki’s body is expected to be flown back to Zimbabwe on Wednesday afternoon.
