MAN ARRESTED FOR DIPLOMAT’S MURDER

POLICE arrested a 21-year-old man on Saturday in connection with the murder of Zimbabwean vice-consul Madzorera Meki in Bedfordview last week. Police are still looking for Mandlankosi Amos Mabaso, (28) nicknamed Mandla, for questioning. The arrested man is expected to appear in the Germiston magistrate’s court on Tuesday. Meki was shot dead in front of his 11-year-old son when his car was hijacked while delivering a parking permit for President Robert Mugabe to a colleague’s house. The hijacked vehicle, which had an immobiliser, was later found abandoned at the Geldenhuys interchange on the N3 highway near Germiston.
