MOZ TOP EXPORTER NAMED

GINWALA AND SONS has been named as Mozambique’s top exporter. The company exported US$3,6-million worth of cottonseed and copra in 1998. The second top exporter is the national textile company, Textafrica, which exported US$3,2-million worth of textiles. The highest rate of export growth over the last two-year period has been achieved by the crabs and prawns exporter, Rui e Castro. Other top exporters include the national fisheries company, Munzura, and the timber company, Ifloma. The major export destinations for Mozambican produce include Zimbabwe, Spain, South Africa, Portugal, the USA, India, Japan, Malawi and Holland.
