PROLIFIC SA AUTHOR DIES

PROLIFIC and distinguished cinematographer, author and publisher, Tom Bulpin, died at his Muizenberg, Cape Town home on Sunday, the Cape Argus reported on Monday. He was 81. Bulpin was the author of 27 books, many of them best-sellers, including “Discovering South Africa” — the latest edition of which he was attempting to complete before his death. Bulpin was born in Umkomaas and attended school in Johannesburg. His books included “Ivory Trail”, “The White Whirlwind”, “Lost Trails of the Transvaal”, “Hunter’s Death”, and “Scenic Wonders of Southern Africa.” He is survived by his wife Monique, sons Mark and John and five grandchildren.
