SOUTH African Airways announced on Friday it will provide 14 round-trip flights each week in line with the new SAA-Delta services between South Africa and the United States. The service will begin on February 1. Three flights will operate non-stop from Atlanta to Cape Town each week, returning direct from Cape Town to Atlanta with a fuel stop in the Cape Verde Islands. Four flights will operate non-stop from Atlanta to Johannesburg each week, with onward services on the new 747-400 aircraft to Cape Town. Return flights will operate from Cape Town through Johannesburg to Atlanta, with a fuel stop in the Cape Verde Islands. Seven flights each week will operate non-stop from New York’s JFK airport to Johannesburg, returning direct from Johannesburg to New York with a fuel stop in the Cape Verde Islands.
