BENNI’S BACK

BENNI McCarthy, SOuth African soccer wayward prodigal son, will be back in national colours as the SA under-23 team take on Cameroon in an Olympic qualifier on Saturday. The Celta Vigo striker was overlooked for the African Nations Cup after announcing his international retirement, until government officials coaxed him back. However, he was overlooked by coach Tortt Moloto — heaping embarrassment on all concerned. SA are two points behind group leaders Cameroon, followed Ghana and Guinea.
