ALISTAIR Campbell completed his second consecutive century of Zimbabwe’s maiden tour of the Caribbean on Sunday to steer his team to safety against a West Indies President’s XI. Campbell was 111 not out at lunch on the third and penultimate day and his team were 297 for seven, 52 behind on first innings.
Campbell reached his hundred in 261 minutes off 204 balls. He hit 15 fours and featured in a sixth-wicket partnership of 160 with Stuart Carlisle, who made 86.
Carlisle was first to go after Zimbabwe resumed at 222 for five.
He was caught by wicketkeeper Courtney Browne off Cameron Cuffy after the President’s XI claimed the second new ball. Carlisle lasted 209 minutes and 149 balls and struck 11 fours and two sixes.
The other batsman out was Andy Blignaut, caught at first slip by Sylvester Joseph off Goldwyn Prince. — Reuters
