THE South African Sevens Rugby team that will take part in the next two legs of the IRB World Sevens’ Series in Hong Kong from 24 to 26 March and Japan from 1 to 2 April was announced in Cape Town on Tuesday. The team will gather in Cape Town for a four-day training camp on Wednesday and will leave for Hong Kong on March 20. South Africa is currently ranked fifth on the IRB World Sevens Series league table with 64 points after seven tournaments. Fiji are the top-ranking sevens side on 128 points, followed by New Zealand on 120 and Australia on 76. Samoa are just ahead of South Africa with 70 points after seven tournaments. The series concludes with the Paris Sevens on May 27 and 28.
