ESPERANCE BURY PATRIOTIC ARMY 7-0

TUNISIAN giants Esperance struck seven goals past Patriotic Army of Rwanda without reply in the first round of the African Champions League this weekend. The 1999 runners-up took just six minutes to break the deadlock in Tunis through national team midfielder Maher Kanzari and Taoufik Hammami added a second 60 seconds later. Adailton dos Santos converted a penalty midway through the opening half and defender Radhi Jaidi joined in the goal spree with two inside a minute just before the break. Hammami made it six soon after half-time and Dos Santos completed the rout with 61 minutes gone to render the return match in Kigali on April 2 of academic interest only.
