ZIMBABWE’S minister of lands and agriculture, Kumbirai Kangai, was arrested on Monday over corruption charges at the state-run grain marketing firm, state radio reported. The radio said Kangai was picked up by police for questioning in an ongoing corruption probe at the Grain Marketing Board. He was expected to spend the night in a police cell and appear in court Tuesday. His arrest follows that of the permanent secretary in the ministry, Tobias Takavarasha last week, for alleged prejudice to the parastatal of more than Z$160-million over the importing of the staple maize grain in 1998.
