SOUTH Africa’s 2006 World Cup Bid Committee ambassadors Abedi Pele Ayew and Roger Milla will join delegations to travel worldwide in the next months in the final push of the World Cup 2006 bidding campaign.
Milla, the African Footballer of the Century, and former Ghanaian captain Abedi Pele will form part of the entourage when the South African 2006 World Cup Bid Committee pays upcoming visits to FIFA executive committee members in Mali, Saudi Arabia, Scotland and Turkey.
Both Milla and Abedi Pele were in South Africa earlier this month during the FIFA inspection tour.
“Abedi and Roger are household names across the world and highly respected figures. They are also passionate about bringing the World Cup finals to Africa and have agreed to accompany the bid committee when we travel to highlight out case to the world football community,” said South Africa 2006 World Cup Bid Committee chief executive officer Danny Jordaan.
