MEC’S LINK TO NKABINDE ‘HEARSAY’

A STATE witness in the murder trial United Democratic Movement secretary-general Sifiso Nkabinde admitted that his earlier testimony implicating KwaZulu-Natal health MEC Zweli Mkhize in the assassination plot was based entirely on hearsay. Bruce Mhlongo admitted during cross-examination that his testimony that Mkhize’s name had been mentioned in the planning of the assasination had come from third parties, who could have been lying.
