REDS GORE BULLS 34-15

THE Bulls sank further down the Super 12 table, after being beaten 34-15 by the Queensland Reds at Ballymore on Saturday. The Bulls’ backline play was unimaginative and the match belonged to the Reds from the kick-off, with the Bulls barely able to string a backline move together. Queensland evened its Super 12 record at 3-3 with the four-try win over the winless Bulls at Ballymore. Matt Cockbain, Sam Cordingley and Toutai Kefu scored second-half tries after Queensland led 13-3 at the half. Unforced handling errors and poor ball retention plagued both sides in a error-ridden first half with Queensland capitalizing on Bulls mistakes. Two penalty goals from five-eighth Elton Flatley put Queensland in the lead, with a try from Tim Horan in the 35th minute. The Bulls defense was lax when Horan went on his own from outside the 22, with Flatley converting the try. On half time, the Bulls’ five eighth Jannie de Beer kicked a penalty goal from right in front to make the deficit 10 points. Bennie Nortje and Deon de Kock scored the Bulls’ tries in the second half.
