POLICE have named Stormers and Springbok rugby player Robbie Kempson as the suspect arrested by police on Sunday in connection with the attempted rape of a 17-year-old girl in Claremont. Cape Town police spokesman Captain Jacques Wiese confirmed the player was released on R2000 bail after he appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Sunday. The alleged victim, a 17-year-old schoolgirl, accompanied her brother to the player’s house in Claremont where an attempt was allegedly made to rape the girl after the Stormers win over the Otago Highlanders on Saturday. Kempson is expected to appear in the Wynberg Court later this week.
