ZIM BEATS YORKSHIRE

POMMIE Mbangwa finished with match figures of 10-53 to help Zimbabwe to a 32-run victory over Yorkshire on Saturday. Mbangwa and Bryan Strang exploited a helpful Headingley pitch to share eight wickets as Yorkshire were bundled out for 147. Mbangwa, who had career-best figures of six for 12 in the first innings, took four for 39 and Strang four for 41 to boost the touring team’s morale ahead of the second test against England starting at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, next Thursday. Zimbabwe lost the first test at Lord’s by an innings and 209 runs. Yorkshire were indebted to debutant Michael Lumb for keeping his side in the hunt after Mbangwa had picked up three wickets to reduce the county side to 13 for four. Lumb struck 12 fours in his unbeaten 66.
