MPUMA TO GET NEW AIRPORT

MPUMALANGA’S capital of Nelspruit formally signed a memorandum on Wednesday pledging its support for a proposed R300 million international airport 25km from the city centre. The proposed Primkop Airport will be Mpumalanga’s first international airport and is sited near the Kruger National Park and other game reserves in an attempt to lure European and American package tours to the region. Nelspruit spokeswoman Delia Oosthuizen said the council granted its support to Primkop ahead of other competing airport bids after an intensive environmental impact study approved the Primkop site.
