VIGILANTE MURDER TRIAL POSTPONED

THE trial of four Muslim vigilantes for the murder of local gang leader Rashaad Staggie four years ago has been postponed to allow arguments for a further delay. People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (PAGAD) head Abdus-Salaam Ebrahim, his security chief Salie Abader and two other members have been charged with the murder in August 1996 of Hard Livings gang boss Staggie, who was dragged from his car and shot, stabbed and burned to death during a march by PAGAD members to protest against gang-induced anarchy and drug peddling in the crime-ridden Cape Flats. – Reuters
