GERMAN TOURISTS FREED IN NIGER

THE German Foreign Ministry said five German tourists abducted in the west African country of Niger had been freed by their captors. The ministry said they had been told by the travel agency which organised the holiday that all the tourists were released unharmed, but their jeep was stolen. A group of seven Germans and their tour guide, also German, were travelling in three off-road vehicles in the north of the country when they were attacked by unknown assailants. – Reuters
