Mandela to write another book

Former South African president Nelson Mandela is writing a second autobiography as a follow-up to his first book, “Long Walk to Freedom”, his office said on Monday. The 82-year-old statesman will cut down on about 80% of his current schedule and spend most of his time abroad while writing the book, which he plans to finish in six to eight months, a statement said. “When not writing he will direct his energies primarily towards the Burundi peace negotiations and his schools and clinics project,” it said. His new book will detail events leading up to South Africa’s first democratic elections in 1994 and his term in office as president. – AFP
