WINNIE IN HOT WATER OVER LIQUOR SALES

IT was clear that African National Congress Womens’ League president Winnie Madikizela-Mandela did not care whether she operated within the law, the Democratic Alliance (DA) said on Sunday. The DA was responding to newspaper reports that police raided Madikizela-Mandela’s Orlando West business premises in Soweto on Thursday and confiscated large amounts of alcohol. She was accused of operating the business illegally and without a valid licence. ”Her blatant disregard of the liquor licensing laws in the newest scandal involving her, shows that she does not care whether she operates within the law or not,” DA MP Dan Maluleke said in a statement. Madikizela-Mandela was not immediately available for comment. – Sapa
