THE trial of two men charged with burning school children’s hands at the Pretoria International Show in August will be heard in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on January 29 and 30 next year, a court official said on Tuesday. The trial date was set when the two men, Pieter Lamprecht (19) and Antonie du Plessis (31) appeared in court briefly on Tuesday. Their bail was extended. The two men face 14 charges of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm after the hands of pupils from the Mzimhlope Primary School in Soshanguve were burnt with a powder at the show. One of the men allegedly told the children to hold out their hands for a demonstration. He then poured the substance onto their hands. Sapa
