PUTCO will open a full investigation into the crash of one of its buses on the N1 freeway outside Pretoria on Monday afternoon, the company’s managing director Nathi Khena said. His announcement came about three hours after a Putco bus collided head-on with an eight ton truck on the N1 freeway in Pretoria at around 5.00pm. Pretoria police said the bus driver lost control and crossed into the lane of the oncoming traffic, smashing into the truck with two people on board. He said the bus carried eight passengers, and the accident took place between Stormvoel and Zambesi off-ramps. Two occupants of the truck were seriously injured while the eight bus passengers sustained slight injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. – Sapa
