POLICEMAN IN TEMBISA SHEBEEN SHOOTOUT

A CASE of attempted murder has been opened after a policeman and another man fired shots at each other outside a shebeen on Sunday night, injuring a bystander, North Rand police said on Monday. A police inspector from Edenvale and Lucas Ledwabe are to be investigated in connection with the charge, Sergeant Nomsa Sekele said. The policeman and friends were at a shebeen in Tembisa when Ledwabe allegedly picked a fight and the two men began shooting at each other. A man was injured in the crossfire and he was taken to hospital. Thirty empty cartridges were found on the scene. – Sapa
