South Africa’s all-commodities producer price index rose by 15,4% in the year to August after increasing by 15,2% in July, Statistics South Africa figures released on Wednesday show.
The month-on-month increase was 0,8% after July’s
1,2% rise. The import component climbed 15,6% from a
16,8% rise in July, while the domestic component
increased 15,3% after gaining 14,6% previously.
A Reuters consensus poll of economists forecast PPI would rise 0,8% month-on-month and 15,3%
