The Katorus child protection unit arrested three men on Sunday morning for the alleged rape of two young girls and a toddler in separate incidents since August this year, East Rand police said.
East Rand police representative Sergeant Prudence Mvelasa said the men, one of them aged 18 and the other two 37 would be held in custody until their appearance in the Germiston magistrates court on Monday.
In one incident, a 14-year-old girl on Saturday told her mother that she had been raped by her 37-year-old father in August. She had evidently been too scared to tell her mother earlier.
In another incident of incest, a mother noticed her
three-year-old toddler bleeding profusely and took her to hospital where it became apparent she had been raped. Mvelasa was unable to provide details on the child’s condition. The child’s 37-year-old father was arrested in connection with the rape.
A 14-year-old teen reported an alleged rape by an 18-year-old youth to the child protection unit. The incident is believed to have taken place in September this year when she was visiting a friend.
